Of course, teaching someone to think like a subject-matter expert requires *being* a subject-matter expert, which circles back to Katie's point: LLMs aren't and can't be experts, so even if they could give you an accurate answer, they can't show you how to *find* answers. And that's the real skill.

Personally, I take a more middling approach: I take my role as an educator seriously, but I'm honest with myself about what I can realistically educate people on. My goal in each video isn't to teach you the specific details of whatever the topic is, it's to teach you to think like a music theorist.

This is one of the most difficult puzzles of educational YouTube: repetition and effort are the two biggest tools for information retention, but without extrinsic motivation they also drive viewers away, so we make things smooth and most of the details don't stick with audiences long-term.
It’s widely known (and, I think, pretty uncontroversial) that learning requires effort — specifically, if you don’t have to work at getting the knowledge, it won’t stick.

Even if an LLM could be trusted to give you correct information 100% of the time, it would be an inferior method of learning it.
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

Was at Publix yesterday and two high school aged cashiers were talking:
“I used ai for that history paper and I got an F, it made up a bunch of stuff that didn’t happen.”
“That’s crazy, I use ai for all my papers and it’s never done me wrong and teachers never notice.”

We are so fuckin doomed.
Today I got to teach a 23yr old that Roe v Wade was *not* a part of the constitution.

Also, I said “I never trust the google Ai” and she replied “oh I always trust the Ai.”

With everything going on with YouTube lately, I think you should know about another problem that's particularly bad in the anime space, and getting worse everywhere.

“Political views” one of the great weasel phrases of our age.

It’s ok to stop relationships with people for being a Nazi, or a Republican, or a member of Stormfront or the KKK or any other hate group. It’s a very normal reaction.

Being a Republican means demolishing the planet and still expecting to get invited to dinner. They don’t believe in cutting people off socially over politics—they believe in *murdering* people over politics. Keeping normal relationships with whoever’s left is how they tell themselves they’re ok.

A Trump voter imprisons your neighbor it’s law and order. Kicks their gay kid out its religious conviction. Shoots you dead it’s self defense. Kidnaps you, it’s border security. Invades your town, it’s fighting crime.

Tell them you don’t like them anymore, it was all just “political views.”

I've found a few names that are pretty close to mine, like the Fire Emblem character Etzel or the Toyota model Tercel. But a new one is Ezel in the Bible (1 Samuel 20:19), which means "departure" or "separation." I like that.
