Very, very few comic book creators can survive on just the money they make from comics. It is an inherently unstable job and it is only getting worse as time goes on. Don't ever be embarrassed or ashamed of needing another job so that you can keep making comics.

Jesus I've been saying this about the entire kpop industry for YEARS. Those fuckass kpop "news" sites exist entirely to do hit jobs on idols.
I read "Confessions of a Media Manipulator" early in the rise of social media. Brands and bad actors were already catching on that all it took to set off a fake frnzy was a few reddit posts, then three blogs about the reddit posts, then sending the links to the blogs to major media orgs. That's it.
