A little thing maybe, but little things help to inform the public, and as Sky News website's narrative has hitherto been unequivocal on the subject of Russia's invasion, so it's surprising to read 'disputed territory' in reference to Crimea. @skynewsrss.bsky.social

On the budget after the Labour Party finally did something 'Laboury'. Pandering to the Tory/Reform crowd, with not a single mention of the elephant in the economic growth room, Brexit, it could be a leader piece for the Telegraph/Times. Typical Laura Kuenssberg stuff 😞

This is outrageous from Keir Starmer.

‘Russian links to Reform need investigating’, he says. So why is his government still fighting case now in Grand Chamber of Strasbourg court refusing to have such an investigation into Russian interference ??

Starmer demands investigation into Reform-Russia links after party's ex-Wales leader jailed
The former leader of Reform in Wales, Nathan Gill, has been jailed for 10-and-a-half years after being paid £40,000 to make pro-Russian statements in the European Parliament.

In view of the USA's treachery, there would never have been a more important time for the UK to have been an integral part of a united Europe. I fucking despise the British fuckers who colluded with the Russian and American fuckers to disunite us. Boris Johnson and his friends should burn in Hell.

It's uncanny hearing John Sweeney say that Clactonites believe (of politicians) that "they're all as bad as each other".

It's a phrase that people I know have used (verbatim) since 2016 when referring to UK politics.

It's almost as if some people wanted others in Western democracies to believe it.

I'm an advocate for Scottish Independence so it's poignant that Austrian school text books cited Ukraine in the context of Scotland.

I've encountered justification for Russia's invasion from both the 'Never Surrender' & the 'Wings over Scotland' crowd. It's a surreal epistemological paradox 😞

Great journalism here, and it's important context. All news needs context.

Pound to a penny, no evidence, just intuition, I'd bet that most of the flag raisers don't pay for a TV licence.

That said, what're the chances that the BBC will dare to let their audience know about this bit of context ?
Wherever we looked for the prominent flaggers and leaders of this movement, we found people smugglers and sex doll salesmen, people with dubious criminal pasts and people willing to put in a good word for Adolf Hitler.

European leaders still treat Trump as an aberration - something to wait out until history returns to normal. That’s an illusion. By flattering Trump without a strategy of their own, they normalise a rising monarchist ideology coming to unseat them in Europe’s next elections.
