Ross from Moffat, Scotland.

My oven gloves are a homage to a Half Man Half Biscuit song. The picture with castle is my painting of Castlebay, Isle of Barra.
The superlative narcissist, and shamelessly oblivious. Humanity outwith MAGA is cringing and/or laughing. If he's not usurped beforehand, someone in the Project 2025 crew will eventually sponsor a really, very great & important American peace prize just for 47, and so as to shut him up about Nobels.

Unfortunately, Salmond, (not unsurprisingly ... he wasn't particularly smart), was outplayed. A smarter leader would have insisted our referendum was held in September 2016, not September 2014. Cameron would have agreed because he was genuinely convinced UK would remain in EU.

First and foremost, it's an antisemitic post. The remainder is disingenuous excusal. The word 'sorry' is extraneous. On leadership morals in contemporary wars, none of Hamas's Gaza, Putin's Russia or Netanyahu's Israel show any discernible moral rectitude. Trump's USA going same way. Nasty old men 😞

It's a treacherous story from the Wall Street Journal. Russia is unreliable & nobody really know what it wants beyond Ukraine's capitulation. The only certainty is that the WSJ is selling capitulation by creating a story with an upbeat, fluffy, unnuanced headline of, 'Make Money, Not War'. 😞

Inappropriate, but it won't hurt 47. Insincerity is an intrinsic tool in a zero sum games for narcissists. The USA invented 'Reality TV competitions', 'have a nice day' culture, & winner worship. It admires narcissism & its citizens likely have a higher tolerance for insincerity than anywhere else.

NATO can't save UK from political/economic damage. It's under attack from actors in USA and Russia, politically alienated from the continent on which it exists, & which has an actual war on its border. European unity & rearmament is needed for the UK, but we pissed on our own chips & lost influence.

In leaving the EU, the UK forwent its influence on the politics of Europe. The USA & Russia want to divide Europe, and the UK is now in a weak position to defend it. One doesn't have to be convinced about the value of the EU's individual parts to know that we were always safer being a part of it.

Historically yes, but most of the 'Christian' world moved on. Contemporarily, it's a culture prevalent in USA & Russia (priests blessing missiles comes to mind). And the empirical/revanchist grievances (Canada/Mexico/Greenland) of 47 are akin to those expressed by Putin (Baltics/Poland/Finland).

The sore thumb standout was the 'elections within 100 days'. It's treachery. It looks frighteningly like collusion. A simple transaction between USA & Russia, and with that transaction, there's more than a hint of a whiff of 'kompromat' coming from 'somewhere'.

Good cause, good luck. Money sent.

But popular things aren't necessarily good things, they're only popular things. Some pop music, retrospectively considered, is objectively bad in almost everyone's opinion. Same with some food fads, building designs, clothing fashions etc. Our 'populist' present may well be cringeworthy in future.

Yep, Sky's complicit too, but my impression is that their overall inflection is less Reform friendly. And while having no particular axe to grind against the BBC's vs. Sky News's website (other than that the BBC should do better), if you trawl through my posts, you'll find many abhorrent BBC items.
November 6, 2025 at 2:08 PM
That would be a quite unfair summation of the Sky News website. But I guess you may refer only to its TV news ? The Sky News website is an entirely different creature, and it has a narrative significantly less accommodating of post-conservative populism than that of say the BBC.
