At midday today there was enough solar to run the house and get the battery more than half full And for Great Tits to be singing and Buzzards displaying overhead. It’s nice to see the sun after weeks of rain. Back to rain later today and tomorrow!

Green Hellebore (Helleborus viridis) is distinctly rare in NW Wales. This large colony on dunes in Deganwy is putting on a great show this year - it usually gets battered by frost. This year, mild soft rain has bejewelled flowers #wildflowerhour

Next month we'll find out if this little fella has made it through the winter into his 11th spring. Chances are probably around 50/50.
May 2015. David Cameron was Prime Minister, UK an EU member, Barack Obama was US President, and this male Marsh Tit hatched in Monks Wood. Colour-ringed 28 August 2015. Photo 2 April 2016. Observed every year since. @martamaziarz.bsky.social & I saw him again today, 10 yrs 5 mo old, still surviving.

My attention was caught by a stunning display of blossom as I was driving home. A cheeky stop for a closer look revealed it was Cherry Plum, gorgeous flowers with reflexed sepals.

A fab bonus from my unplanned stop - this Fox contemplating and eventually crossing the flooded path.
