On this day in 1975, around 90 percent of women in Iceland went on strike. They protested unequal pay by refusing to do housework, child rearing, or the duties of their paid positions. The next year, Iceland's parliament passed a law guaranteeing equal pay for women.

You know what this shit gets you? Stress-related illness and a heart attack at 50.

Take it from a Gen Xer: this is not the way to live. The years go by WAY too fast, and before you know it you'll realize that you worked your life away and didn't live it. And then you die. There is no do-over.
