Hey, it's me.
Writer, reader, crafter, nerd, and amateur folklorist. Chronically ill (long covid) and won't be silent about it. We are still in a pandemic.

Catching up on reading Dracula Daily during an appointment with a half hour observation period today, and I have to say reading Lucy's storyline while getting an iron infusion is a little bit trippy. #chronicillness #books

Me: I'm going to try out the productivity tool I got from itch years ago!
*several hours later* *has not used that tool and has fallen down a rabbit hole of looking at other programs and tools etc etc*
Tbh it's a wonder that it took me as long as it did to figure out that I might maybe have ADHD 😝

so I'm rewatching The Owl House for the first time since getting my long covid diagnosis and I... I'm having lots of emotions about Eda's curse x'D

Marvel could pay for my healthcare for the rest of my life for a fraction of 1% of profit from Spider-Man Noir, a character whose original comics I edited. For Peter David to die in medical debt, co-creator of Spider-Man 2099 and writer of countless seminal Hulk and X-Factor comics—that's a disgrace

The last few times this month it's hit around 79f, my body has just fallen apart. I was really hoping that this summer I would handle better than last, but the covid reinfection I had in February has apparently shattered that. Genuinely dreading this summer, but nothing I can do about it.

Too late to be known as Don the first,
He's sure to be known as Don the worst,
A pox on the phony king of 'Murica!

I don't particularly care about the new pope being elected but I would like you to know I just said the phrase "oh he's announced his popesona name already" and immediately cracked up at myself.

HAPPY DRACULA DAILY DAY!
My good friend Jonathan Harker is on a work trip to visit a new client. He's collecting recipes for his fiance, Mina (aww). Surely nothing weird or amiss could happen on this totally normal trip 👀

Welp! I thought it was gonna happen, and it finally did. My job finally got tired of waiting for me to recover with my long covid enough to work again, so I am officially unemployed.
If anyone knows how to get a refund on 2025, that would be great. I've had the few month trial and I am not a fan 🙃

Finally have an appt tomorrow for autonomic testing after a year+ wait. And I realize now, the night before, that I completely misread the meds to pause before the test list and I should have stopped one two days ago and two others a week ago. 🙃 Thanks for absolutely nothing #longcovid brain!

Successfully enrolled in my first clinical trial for #longcovid ! Not going to share details as I don't want to doxx myself 😅 Don't know if I'll see improvement through it but I'm glad to know I'm contributing to research to help all of us dealing with this.

Yeah. This.
it’s really a special kind of mindfuck to feel increasingly thrown away like a piece of trash by society while not physically being able to do anything that would feel even remotely productive, soothing or comforting to my mind or body right now.

Chronic illness doesn’t take your dreams away—it puts them just out of reach. Some days, even the basics feel impossible. This isn’t laziness. It’s survival.
