The BBC didn’t just cut a line from Trump’s Jan 6 speech. They cut themselves out of the fight. Saying “peacefully” doesn’t erase months of incitement or armed intent. Resigning wasn’t accountability. It was submission dressed as neutrality.
Once every 20 years or so, the director-general of the BBC is forced to resign for being insufficiently rightwing. Alastair Milne in 1987. Greg Dyke in 2004. Tim Davie in 2025. The great irony is that the BBC was in all cases profoundly biased towards established power. But just not biased enough …

It's not that Trump is ashamed--the man knows no shame. What Trump is doing is trying to keep the destruction out of photographs because someone has likely clued him into the fact that the White House is a symbol of the nation.
