Seems a pretty reasonable division, though it's also going to mean stepping on the toes of the counties, but that's probably necessary.

Ah, that movie. NGL I liked the first part but thought it just really lost steam halfway through and the rest of the movie was just kinda boring and incoherent.

I suspect it won't really be in history textbooks, but it will be a relatively niche topic of interest for political scientists and US historians publishing articles, with maybe a few books written about it with titles like "The Fortnight Triumvirate" or "January 7th."

One must mantle the Weltgeist, Michael. Will you simply wait for history, or will you grasp it and make it your own? The Weltgeist is the latter, Michael.

Between this and the fact all these people were willing to pay for a bluecheck, I think some people got way too addicted to Twitter engagement.

oh man, Coppola cast *Danny Huston* to play Joseph in Marie Antoinette. That is some solid casting for the tone of this letter.

If I might offer a potential unforseen outcome: SNAP funding is restored by Congress but Trump refuses to spend it. He's already fighting it in the courts.

A co-worker of mine over the summer and I were driving past a collection of old cars at an antique roadshow nearby and he said "Oh yeah, that's purty" and I said "You want me to give you two a minute?"

Look, all I will say is this: late 2024 had two movies by aging directors who got their start in the 70s that are ultimately about America through a Roman lens: Megalopolis was the more interesting of the two.

I saw it sober. I enjoyed it immensely, me and the five other people in the theater. The first three of us in the theater had a nice talk about why we were willing to give it a chance: "at least it will be interesting" was the consensus.

Book Day is always the best part of the week. I was very excited last Tuesday to get some books from home for an article I'm working on.
