cliche as hell to say it but if you bring a book with you it doesn't require headphones and it never runs out of battery!!

i think that people who use headphones in public places like trains are selfish. keeping all your cool music and podcasts to yourself is genuinely sociopathic and deranged behavior. play it on your phone's speaker and let everyone enjoy it, or don't play it at all

Spent some time this weekend exploring @softrains.bsky.social AMBROSIA SKY. It’s like if a power washing game was as moody and melancholy as it was relaxing. And the art direction is really stunning!

This will not be news to regular readers, but it's worth noting whenever Toronto council debates housing (or transportation or neighbourhood amenities) that just three of the 25 wards absorbed three-quarters of the city's population growth between 2016 and 2021

Can someone who is good at streaming services explain why Netflix dropped a big Frankenstein title a week after Halloween

progressive toronto politicians should propose outlandishly radical policies so when they inevitably get watered down in council they still actually accomplish something

Dan says it right: this is a city, and we need leaders who will say so.
I wrote an op-ed on what I think about the fight for local neighbourhood retail (and the grousing about Badiali's) means for the urban vision of Toronto. Gift link here: www.thestar.com/opinion/cont...
When even the humble corner store is impossible to open in Toronto, it’s a sign of something deeply wrong
We need to accept that Toronto is now a big city.

Did you ever wonder why Stephen Sondheim made a cameo appearance in Knives Out: Glass Onion, or what inspired movies like Michael Douglas' "The Game" and Disney's "Midnight Madness"?

Both of those answers can be found in the book "Matching Minds with Sondheim". Here's a review, explaining why.
Stephen Sondheim Loved Puzzles More Than You | ARGNet: Alternate Reality Gaming Network
Matching Minds with Sondheim is a book that explores the composer and lyricist's enduring passion for puzzles and games, and the lasting impact his works have left on the space.
