Last day of TGS already!

We are still at booth E-24 in Hall 9, Indie Area!
Can’t believe TGS is nearly over. Had another amazing day of showing Milano and Micro Mages and networking with other indies. Then had an amazing team ramen dinner followed by sick deals at the local book off. Got this kanji game for less than 1/3 what it goes for on eBay.

Fun fact

Downloading msys2 from an airplane takes exactly 8 hours. Assuming you never close your laptop.

So it never made it - Coding without being able to test is actually fun.

In 1980, Microsoft had already decided case-insensitive was better, even if it killed performance.

Doing subnet tailscale static routing is something I had never done. (i.e. playing with network routes).

Now our automated console development kits are getting pings in <1ms instead of previously 20ms from the CI machines, and are still accessible through the Wireguard VPN.

Silent Hill 2 (2001, PS2) simulates retinal regenerating in your eye as it adapts to the dark. If you leave the flashlight off in the apartments, the screen gradually gets brighter and brighter (over a few minutes). It never gets 'bright', get easily bright enough to navigate without the light.

We had to move a variable elsewhere in Rainbow Six Vegas PSP because it was next to an audio structure object that was initialized by a kernel system call which had a memory buffer overruns (confirmed by Sony).

Data breakpoints didn't work so we created a watch dog thread for the memory location.
i was going through my X archives and found this by @superpodsaga.com, which I qrt'd at some point years ago

so, let me bring the question back: what is the most useless piece of video game knowledge you know?

"FEMA Didn’t Answer Thousands of Calls From Flood Survivors, Documents Show"

"The lack of responsiveness happened because the agency had fired hundreds of contractors at call centers"

Running a government is boring. If only Homeland Security meant something more than kicking out immigrants...

"As Floods Hit, Key Roles Were Vacant at Weather Service Offices in Texas
Some experts say staff shortages might have complicated forecasters’ ability to coordinate responses with local emergency management officials."

Keeping things working has value people understand when things start breaking.

Bicycle commuting reimbursements: The bill permanently excludes qualified bicycle commuting reimbursements from the list of qualified transportation fringe and other commuting benefits, making them taxable to employees.

And from this, I'm out biking this morning!
