I worked at Ubisoft. They tried to embrace the indie mindsets, they even made some "Indie" games like: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child_o...

Of course they had more budget, but the structure of these projects were outside the big Ubisoft umbrella

The original has the narrative, including the possibility that asking about a certain item may lead to a different dialog.

The new one still has the English written aspect but we lost the narrative. It's more efficient, still feel Ultima but wanted to point that difference out.

It's hard to beat the combo of Visual Studio + Visual Studio Code for C++. I just switch between them.

I should probably give CLion another chance, last time I used it was more than 5 years ago.

Silent Hill 2 (2001, PS2) simulates retinal regenerating in your eye as it adapts to the dark. If you leave the flashlight off in the apartments, the screen gradually gets brighter and brighter (over a few minutes). It never gets 'bright', get easily bright enough to navigate without the light.
