Transportation, housing, and politics wonk. All opinions are my own.

This is exactly how a bike lane network should be conceptualized…in the same design language and typology of that city’s public transportation network and with connectivity to subways, busses, LRT etc.

Once again, Paris is leading the way.
THIS IS AMAZING!

This is the planned bike path network for the #Paris region for 2025.

It will involve 450 kms of lanes. Not just #Paris intra-muros (within the Périphérique) but Grand Paris—a true regional network, incorporating long-neglected banlieues (suburbs).

Two stages of writing:

1) This shouldn't take too long
2) Oh no

It’s crazy that we don’t increase the 401 speed limit to 115-120 km/h and then actually enforce it.

Very interesting dive into the stats on Toronto's gun violence. As with many things, it's not such a simple story.

Important context: Literally yesterday, the City's bid award panel approved a contract to resurface the east side of University Avenue and upgrade the bike lane.

The west side was just completed earlier this fall. Work that's been years in the making.

Doug Ford's bill explicitly exempts bike lanes where a contract has already been awarded. Something tells me that won't convince him to spare University Avenue.
