Marco weighs the envelope in his hand. Feels the heft of it. Thinks about the risk, about what it means that Albert went through massive effort to not be traceable to what happens here. Also thinks about being able to definitively say that his time out here was not a mistake. Didn’t ruin his life.

"It used to be Stan," he droned, "I added the second A to sound scarier." He scratched at the base of his left horn, glasses fogging. "So, back to the audit. What do you remember about your misbehavior in 1964? March? Don't lie; I have the file."

Scene: you go to Hell and the Devil's an accountant.

Seriously, can they just not? Mf'rs won't even admit cider vinegar is a table condiment, and now this?

I admit that a bro-fest was the last thing I expected when Mamdani visited Trump in the Oval Office.

Next moves will be interesting. Will the President's toad-eaters try to restore the status quo ante? Panic? Try to roll with it?

There's less central coordination than meets the eye....

He takes the light rail to the outskirts. A pair of earnest missionaries try and convert him on it, to one of those megachurches that's convinced it's got God up and running in an LLM. Hand him a pamphlet, "HE IS BACK. NOW. TODAY." Harmless kooks though, not one of the really scary ones.

When you make a list of ways to crush fascism, it's surprising how many of them involve dropping something large, heavy and/or extremely energetic on it.
The Battle of Berlin in April 1945 caused the death of c. 125,000 civilians, which is about twice as many civilians killed in the atomic bombing of Nagasaki.

My own view about the use of the A Bomb is rather complicated but any tankie condemnation on this point needs to tag the Red Army too.

When I heard Mike Johnson talking about how the Senate "would be able to fix" the Epstein files bill, I wondered if it might not irk the Senate to have the Speaker tell them what to do.

Wonder no more.
You might not have caught what just happened on the Senate floor, but the Senate just “deemed as passed” the Epstein resolution.

That means as soon as it arrives from the House, it automatically passes the Senate (with no amendments) and heads to the President’s desk.

Wow.

A courier with an ancient Cessna Caravan flies out of there. Legal documents, hard drives full of the petty secrets of the people and business too paranoid or scarred to trust that the new generation of encryption actually works again. Can rent a seat from him if you know him, off the record.
