A) I loved that show.
B) From a U.S. perspective, it is staggering how much history is in back gardens and under farm fields over there.

Yeah, that's fucknuts. People develop all kinds of bad habits trying to deal with ADHD, bipolar disorder, etc., and drugs only help remove the causes. You still have to change your habits, and that's not easy.

One thing few people know is that even normal-speed rail in the U.S. is pretty plush on the the long-distance routes. Better seats than first-class air, much more legroom, usually a decent snack bar. Amtrak is underappreciated.

Gotta admit, at this point I wouldn't blame any of them if they saw something big incoming and just shrugged and said, "Nah."

Maybe the next dominant species will do better. We had our shot, and look at what we did with it....

"Aversive" is the same thing on the negative side of the scale; I can see Trump reacting well to either, the way roses and fresh barf can both draw flies.

This reminds me a little of "streamlined America" in Dean Ing's "Ted Quantrill" books. But the U.S. of The Glass seems to have done itself in, while Ing's had plenty of outside help.
