In fact "if you think globalisation was bad wait till you see what deglobalisation is like. In fact we got a taste of it with Brexit, didn't we, and that's been a sh1tshow. So we're not turning inward"* would be a far more cheerful message for business to hear.

To someone who is watching from abroad, what is happening right now in America looks an awful lot like a coup.

The DEI caused the plane crash narrative is a distraction. The tariffs are a distraction. Whatever insane nonsense Trump spews that the media will chase like cats chasing a laser light is a distraction. The only story that counts right now is the wholesale hijacking of control of the US government.

We say it every time there's a great Test, but in a world of instant gratification & where substance takes a back seat to sensation, how great is it to still have at least one sport which twists, turns, unfolds gradually & is as gloriously unpredictable as Test cricket! #AUSvIND

Lots to like in this...
A five-point plan to drive the influence of money out of politics:

1) Ban all donations to political parties, think tanks, campaign groups.

2) allow everyone to divert up to (say) £50 of their VAT per year into those organisations

3) Make all corporate spend on lobbying declarable
