"Oh no, that's just for you," he said.

Good morning #5amwritersclub Wife is now regularly giving into the pre-dawn scribble but so has our son, who wakes up for a poo just as I’m getting into my stride. I let him join me with his Pokémon cards as long as he’s quiet but today he declared my work “boring.” A pretty accurate summary!

Good morning #5amwritersclub Wife is now regularly giving into the pre-dawn scribble but so has our son, who wakes up for a poo just as I’m getting into my stride. I let him join me with his Pokémon cards as long as he’s quiet but today he declared my work “boring.” A pretty accurate summary!

A complete stranger just wrote to me and the editor of the NOR (which just published an essay of mine) telling the eds to nominate my essay for Best American, and sending details of how to do that.
A reminder to us all to tell a writer when their work moves you. It means so so much.

She saw family in Lebanon. Now this Brown Medicine doctor is being held at Logan for deportation.
Dr. Rasha Alawieh flew into Logan Airport Thursday after visiting family in Lebanon. She's being detained now at Logan without legal counsel.

I was a finalist in a New Ohio Review essay prize, and they published my essay this issue. I haven’t seen it yet, le sigh, but friends keep sending me photos from around the place. It took me years to work out what I wanted to say about this friendship that gave my wife and I our son. Here it is ❤️
