In light of the Epstein Blackout, shouldn’t Khanna and Massie demand Johnson call the House back into session? (If he won’t, can they somehow hijack the pro forma session scheduled for Tuesday Dec. 23?) And Senators should make a similar demand of Thune.

"Every lockdown drill is a confession of failure. Every barricaded classroom is an indictment. Every child taught to hide is proof that the adults in charge have surrendered."
What Are We Doing to Our Children?
We taught kids to read, write, and dream; then trained them to hide, barricade, and bleed quietly while adults chose guns, cowardice, and silence over their future.

The highest calling of journalism isn’t to tell two sides of a story.

The highest calling of journalism is to tell the truth.

And acting like a stenographer is a betrayal of your audience.
Unfortunately, in US journalism it is considered neutral to spread a lie, but it is considered "biased" to call out a lie. So, there is a structural asymmetry that rewards colorful lies with virality.

Any Democrat who "trusts" notoriously deceitful Republicans to keep their word on an ACA vote deal is too naive/stupid to be in office.

Let's fix that next time they are up for election. #PrimaryTheIdiots

bit by bit, the administration is laying the groundwork and actually carrying out a system of repressing democratic life in america. redefining opposition as terrorism, targeting critics, investigating civic funders.

we're so far beyond normal and, again, only eight months in.

Just so I'm clear:

TV host says we should kill every homeless person? No big deal

TV host says the right must "go to war" with the left? Pfft.

TV host says the government is cracking down on critics? Well, the government cracks down on him for the criticism.

Free speech, everyone.

So right-wing oligarchs now control X, Facebook, TikTok, WaPo, Fox News, CBS...and others not controlled by them are capitulating. Do I have that right?

This is the official spokesperson for the White House, stating that the President hopes to deploy the United States military to occupy every city controlled by the political party that opposes him. Explicitly.
Leavitt: "These are the bad guys that we are picking up in Washington DC every day. The president would love to do this in every Democrat-run city across the country."

This is an actual exchange from a VP who took an oath to defend the constitution and, as a citizen, is expected to abide by the law.

May we one day have accountability for the grotesque lawlessness of this regime.

A president declaring war on Chicago, a major American city.

Also, another example of MAGA misusing pop culture. Lieutenant Kilgore in Apocalypse Now was a desensitized psychopath who loved the smell of napalm in the morning. Wanted to surf after destroying a Vietnamese village.

Tracks.

Hard to see how this would not be "murder" or war crime under international law that DoD considers applicable.

Just to piggyback on this, I just sent this over to a friend of mine who is a regional director for a big grocery chain. His full response:

“Strap the fck in. You haven’t seen anything yet.”
grocery prices? going way WAY up next month. i had to increase retail on cans of ground coffee beans yesterday.

i kid you not, the Maxwell House ones went up $15 entire dollars PER unit.

if you got it for $14.99 yesterday, is it literally double that today.

it's about to get ugly(er)
