Today’s tragedy at the Dallas ICE Field Office shows how dangerous anti-immigrant rhetoric has become. Words that dehumanize don’t just poison politics — they fuel violence. My thoughts are with the families who lost loved ones as we work with officials for clarity and accountability.

That Kamala interview was heart breaking because it's one of the few times that I've ever seen a national political figure say the system is broken and that trying to work within it to change things probably wont work.

A legal permanent resident researching cures for Lyme disease has been detained by immigration officials for over a week.

He has reportedly been denied access to an attorney and his family has not been given a reason for his detention.

We cannot become immune to this cruelty.

Yep.
In the era of the fascist MAGA regime, the FAA has a shortage of over 3,000 air traffic controllers which of course puts everyone in mortal danger.

I never saw any of these catastrophic problems whilst Secretary Pete Buttigieg was in charge of Transportation.

We have talked about this in our department. But for the usual dysfunction…
I can't envision a Fall semester (and maybe next 3 years?) in which we're not teaching hybrid (because of ICE). Other than going fully online, I don't see an equitable alternative
