Pete, what drove many independents to the polls this time was policy anger.
If the Democrats show they're strong enough to make beneficial and protective change for them, they'll support. But by caving in, those voters will sit out the midterms because no one is effectively fighting to help them.

Thanks. It's a Mr. Lincoln hybrid which is a deep red, but this one often has nearly black edges before opening.

Tough question for the second part. For the first , yes. I saw it in two parts (and it's divided into two). It's a worthy film on it's own.
As for older versions, to me, no two are alike. There was an old TV version (Michael Sarazin) I enjoyed for its uniqueness. Penny Dreadful had a good take too.

Well I can see that in some respects. On the other hand, factor in the general perspective of that time and location and it would have those overtones. There is one concept used towards the end though which deviated from the original material which swings the pendulum back to potentially "Catholic".
