For those of you who saw the AIDOL event...
Pulling it up from under its arms, stage assistants attempt to drag away the still smiling AIDOL robot which fell forward on its face. The added caption says, "I'm ok. I'm ok. *hic* I meant to do that." As the stage assistants drag the robot back, half of its smile has turned to a look of concern as it gazes at a spot (out of photo) where a few shattered pieces of plastic are left behind. The added caption reads, "Wait, is that a piece of my ass on the floor?"

That we have 4 years to go before Skynet sends Arnold back to 1984 to kill John Conner, has me thinking about the movie trope of super-intelligent AI supplanting humanity (Matrix, Colossus, etc.).

My take, *checks news*:
A barely self-aware AI with a 2nd grade education can probably take us down.
