Because both fanbases are full of self-loathing idiots who are primarily looking for more reasons to complain about how terrible their coaches are in hopes that said coaches will get fired and be replaced by a new guy for them to complain about.

Honestly, Tomlin and the Steelers may be better off missing the playoffs and scapegoating Metcalf than winning and getting blown out again by Buffalo or LA.

Go out and sign Malik Willis, extend Gainwell, and use all those draft picks on receivers.

I think I'm joking, but I'm not entirely sure.

It can be wrong because the calls are still made by humans, and humans are fallible.

And fortunately, if the affected team thinks replay assist is wrong, they can still challenge, which lets the officials take a longer look without trying to rush to make a call before the next snap.

I guess you could say the list of stuff is random, but it's based on whether it's an "objective" call (e.g., what down it is) as opposed to judgment calls (e.g., pass interference).

It's not random. It's all spelled out pretty clearly. operations.nfl.com/officiating/...
NFL Replay Assistance Rule | NFL Football Operations
Replay officials and designated members of the NFL officiating department can advise on-field crews based on clear and obvious video evidence.

Coaches can challenge even if a play has already been reviewed with replay assist. In Green Bay's case, they were gonna take their last timeout anyway, so they would've lost their ability to challenge. So there was literally no reason to not challenge that play and just treat it as a timeout.

It'd be a real monkey's paw situation if Baltimore gave Derrick Henry another carry now and he got hurt.

Even if that were true, it would be irrelevant to my post and would, if anything, support the point I was making, but thanks for sharing.

Or they could just take him out mid-drive to start the 4th...

They also Derrick Henry walk that same offseason, didn't they?
