Honestly the thing that feels fake to me even though I know it’s not is that cooking oil counts toward your calorie intake

I’ve also only had one Thanksgiving and it was in Northern California and we deep fried a whole turkey in a giant vat of oil. It was good
I've only had one Thanksgiving in the States and it was in New Orleans with a ballet dancer, his french horn playing marine boyfriend and a jazz musician/composer. I tried homemade gumbo among other things.

*Finds out about an Ancient Greek/Roman goddess* Oh wow Lovecraft used her in one of his stories.

[three minutes later]

The cat is called WHAT
I’ve slowed down a little bit on this but the idea of a mathematician accidentally stumbling into dreadful arcane witchcraft because his formulas are too complex absolutely rules. The story is bad though. Oh well!
In Lovecraft’s stories even men of science and reason describe weird stuff as “blasphemous”. Blasphemous against who, buddy? You just discovered something new in the natural order and it’s a bit much, but what’s it blaspheming against?
