Has anyone seen Mike Johnson lately? How come the House of Representatives has been out for a month, yet the reps are still getting paid for basically doing nothing? I'd love a job like that. I'd imagine most of the laid-off federal workers would love that too, but they weren't given the option. 😢

THIS. A huge part of the job of high ranking electeds is communicating their policy goals in a clear & convincing way. You don’t just *follow* the voters, you have to lead them too.
The job for Democrats is not "moving to the center," wherever that is. It's articulating progressive positions and convictions in a way that makes clear that they represent common sense and straightforward thinking. If you don't understand that, maybe the whole pundit thing is not your calling.
