I went to the bookstore but couldn't remember what books my kids already own.

Ugh. My coworker has given me an ugly document to check for errors. It has at least two errors. One that I know what it is, and one that I do not.

Curmudgeonly old person grumble.

An acquaintance recently got married and posted a series of lovely professional posed wedding pictures to Facebook.

Of the whole set, only one of them has both members of the couple looking at the camera.

Am I wrong to feel like the vibes with that are bad?

What skill did you master that you will never, ever use again?

I know how to milk cows. Or I did anyway. It's been a couple decades since the last time.
What skill did you master that you will never, ever use again?

I once worked as a network technician, and had to make lengths of coax and cat5 cable, cutting a length off a reel and crimping the connectors on over the wires.

I got pretty good at it, and then never did it again.
What skill did you master that you will never, ever use again?

In the summer of ‘88, I had a job where I installed cell phones into cars. No one has needed that skill in over 30 years.

Movie you've watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (either War or Trek), LOTR, or Marvel.

Here is John in the wilderness. We've gone back to the beginning of this account, to the prophet in the wilderness preparing the way. Last week we were near the other end of the story with Jesus proclaiming an impending calamity. This week, John's message very similar vibes. Both Jesus and John look at what they see around them and declare that it cannot go on.

I'm looking for a usage tracking app for an Android device with the following properties:

You set a desired usage goal on a per app basis. (Eg, 20 minutes per day on YouTube) Unused amounts are carried over to the next day. If you go over, unused amounts are borrowed from the following day.

It's holiday card day. I might have one or two extra this year, anyone want a holiday card?

The problem with painting two places that I haven't been is I have no idea if they do what I want or not.

This one isn't turning out like what I had in my head.

If you're zoning out watching your kids' swimming lesson with me, this is what you get.

Ugh. Swimming pools.

Disconcertingly, the head of the organization I work for behaves as if she knows me. This is someone 5 levels above me in the hierarchy whom I have not (to my recollection) spoken to.

Does she pretend she knows everyone?

I was just served an ad for this conspiracy laden petition and... Sounds great! They already calculate them anyway, why do I have to do it?

Calamity

Life goes on. Until it doesn't. We're picking up here with Jesus' teachings on the destruction of the Temple, this time from Matthew. Jesus speaks of a massive cataclysm, sweeping over people during their normal everyday activities, and killing them apparently at random. There's no possibility of safety here. What are you going to do? Not go to the fields to tend your crops?

I have been to Walmart, I realised that is Black Friday when I got there due to a sign in an adjacent retailer hopefully informing me that they opened early today.

There were zero customers in the adjacent retailer and no checkout line at Walmart

Because it's a normal Friday morning in Canada.

Depends what you mean by "remember" and what you mean by "major news story"

Bob Rae becoming Premier of Ontario in 1990? The election results itself...I dunno, but I'm pretty sure I remember something of the campaign.
1. What was the first major news story you remember as a child?

Another fucking restructuring.

Ugh. My pants have decided they no longer wish to be pants.

While I'm at work.

On a day when I do not have my repair kit in my bag.

Help me with my paintings for Advent! They're going to be four nighttime city skylines/skyscapes that may or may not successfully capture the cities that I'm aiming for, but which cities?
