Mike Johnson: "God miraculously saved the president's life -- I think it's undeniable -- and he did it for an obvious purpose. His presidency and his life are the fruits of divine providence. He points that out all the time and he's right to do so."

Are evangelical churches the next hotbed for incel activity?
"A study published last year by the Survey Center on American Life found that church membership was declining among young women in the U.S. at a higher rate than among young men."

SCOOP from @bmietana.bsky.social and me: Trump told reporters that pastors said IRS investigated their churches under Biden.

One of those pastors, a longtime Trump supporter, confirmed he told Trump that, but he says documents to prove it are with the White House. religionnews.com/2025/04/18/t...
IRS investigated church led by Trump advisor Robert Jeffers
(RNS) — For years, churches and separation of church and state activists have been frustrated at the way the IRS has handled allegations of church electioneering.

For millions of American evangelicals a mythical memory and aspirational vision of American greatness is granted as much devotion as the Christian faith itself. They simply cannot imagine a contradiction between Christian faith and American greatness.

It's because MLMs bear a striking resemblance to proselytizing.
It's funny how often church leaders are in MLM schemes. You're good at building networks and capitalizing on the relationships you're building, I get it. How can you tell when you've crossed the line to exploitation and monetary self-enrichment with those relationships?

Christian nationalist pseudo-historian Tim Barton tries to make the case that Trump's tariff policy is supported by Jesus. The argument, of course, relies on a) misrepresenting the Bible and b) misunderstanding how tariffs work. www.peoplefor.org/rightwingwat...

Trump: "An old fashioned term that we use -- groceries. I used it on the campaign. It's such an old fashioned term, but a beautiful term. Groceries. It says a bag with different things in it."

Conservatives argue that people with penises are men and people with vaginas are women, and that this is basic science. They're obviously full of shit, as that's not science; it's semantics. They just can't tell the difference.

"Spiritual authority" isn't, or at least shouldn't, be a thing in regards to politics. When it comes to "prophecy," it seems like reality doesn't respect their "spiritual authority" either.
Just hours before the GOP candidate lost by 10 points, self-proclaimed "prophet" Hank Kunneman declared that Republicans would win the election for the Wisconsin Supreme Court, thereby keeping his record of being wrong about everything in tact.
