I often see arguments against support for the Irish language that it “has no use outside of Ireland”. Can that not be said for most languages outside of their countries? Does Norwegian have use outside of Norway? Does Kurdish have use outside of Kurdistan?

Everything being done now is the operational preparation of the environment for what is to come. The threat of martial law & troops in the street is not some bizarre conspiracy today. Interestingly, while the right decried these as leftist conspiracies it turns out it was what they wanted all along.
Here we go.
Certain generals must be removed before any martial law plan is put into action—as Trump and Hegseth are worried there may still be some generals out there who support the Constitution rather than his proposed dictatorship.

Agree.
As a journalist who covers extremism at the local level, I think it’s a mistake to view Trump’s Napoleonic statement as solely about presidential power. Consider if it’s interpreted as a wink and a nod for any extremist to act outside the law to “save” the country as they see fit
