Gunn's Superman is the first movie that really gets that what makes him Superman isn't being the strongest, it's his unshakeable belief that it is the responsibility of the strongest to also care the most. For as good as the original film was, not even that one fully grasped this.

I am only seeing one or two swallows now when I used to see dozens. Our fucked misunderstanding of science has allowed us to kill thousands of mosquitoes when we forget that bats and swallows thrive on eating them. We deserve the fate that is rapidly approaching us.
