Still love the show, but it definitely had growing pains in the start.
Give me some of that delightful over-the-top, mid-90s, not-at-all subtle in its allegories, TV budget, campy sci-fi, delivered with charm and wonderful characters.
With the added cheat code of music cues from David Arnold’s spectacular score for the film.

The film is tracking to earn $200M+ in its opening weekend in the country.
Beautiful scene.

Probably still my favourite episode, it’s just so well done. Equal parts reverential and dramatic - John Hurt portrays the tragedy of The War Doctor, and the relief at the end of - so well.
Just wonderful.

He’s taking the confirmation that he’s a lame duck and losing influence over his own party badly and he’s becoming desperate.

Especially David Arnold’s score, that music is the music of my childhood, especially because a lot of the themes are returned in SG-1 and I watched that for YEARS.
I might even rewatch the shows between now and the new show’s release.
