Fair play to Scarlets by the way. Fully admit I thought they'd be completely out of the hunt by now. Thumping us with a bonus point then a week later going down to Johannesburg and doing the same to Lions? That's a statement.
How good is this? Next weekend could be one of the most dramatic days in the history of the league.

After spending much of last year being “rinsed” regularly by @bonymaenbowls.bsky.social I’ve decided if you can’t beat them,join them. Delighted to be their new hard nosed right hander.We’re like the Hells Angels. Obviously with more Farah slacks and cardigans. 2025 will be the year of bowls.

This is an interesting point made by me. Over the last 20 years, no other URC academy has produced as much backline talent as Scarlets. On a global level, only your Toulouses and your Canterbury Crusaders have comparable pipelines.

Looking at URC table, I think @edjenx.bsky.social is right. Irish rugby outside Leinster is in crisis. Three provinces behind two Welsh sides in the league, behind ALL the Scottish teams and behind half the Italian teams. A median league position of 11 for Ulster, Munster and Connacht. Worrying.
