“You can’t really appreciate the work of the 80’s Brit dream pop collective TMC unless you listen to their albums straight through, especially their underrated double album Filigree & Shadow.”

If your wife says she wants chocolate and strawberries for Valentine’s Day, mixing Count Chocula and Frankenberry is not good enough. I know this now.

In memory of the Japanese Martyrs, I recommend everyone watch Silence. It can be quite the hard watch at times but it’s a truly amazing film ⚓️

This copy editor, listening to Counting Crows: “You sing “long December” a lot in this song, but each December is exactly as long as another.”
Happy anniversary to my favorite copy editor comment of all time.

"You use 'long eighteenth century' a lot in this book, but each century is exactly as long as another."

On my mind after teaching on ecclesiology: we seem to turn every good gift given for the building up of the Body, even and especially the gift of each other, as an occasion for dividing. As Paul (& Augustine!) saw clearly, this is a fundamental rejection of what the Spirit is doing with those gifts.
