I'm mostly here to talk about games and related stuff. From AAA to Indie, west to east, Fast-paced shooters to visual novels, I play them all ;but I have enough self respect to not waste my time on live-service slops.
All that acquisition splurging really messed up xbox, more than help them.

Take this a step further. Use your own mind to decide what you think of the game. Be it lit, sad, woke, rad, you decide that on your own. Not because you got influenced by people with a loud mouth online. Have some ego and self respect
Any time you’re watching one of these console or publisher directs, I strongly recommend avoiding the live chat. God forbid a game has a woman or black person as the main protagonist. The cuckaphony will be on full display. These hand loving losers have nothing better to do. 🙄

Why tf is Doom The Dark Age 80 bucks (and equivalent regional price)!?

I know answer is gamepass, but it will just lead to people like me ignoring the game altogether.

Microsoft can be nice for the developers, but as a end user, I hate them as a publisher.

I am glad that there are 2 new Ninja Gaiden games, but having Microsoft as their publisher was the bitter part of the news. Not only MS feels like out of touch as a publisher, but it also makes physical release very unlikely.

This "book community" should probably find another hobby, as they are a failure when it comes to learning from the hobby.
Even after following a hobby that's supposed to widen your world view, they still have a narrow and rigid view of games.
the moral superiority a large percentage of the book community has toward gamers makes me embarrassed to identify as a reader, honestly.

Why is #Xbox so bad at promoting their games. I rarely see their games being promoted as much as other AAA publishers.

Avowed is supposed to come out in less than a month, but I had forgotten about it and barely see anyone talking about it.

Currently known list of #PlayStation Live-Service game effort.

It was supposed to be 12 games released over the span of 2023-2026 iirc. Even if you ignore the pre-2021 and bungie games, it is more than 12.

Seems like they went harder on live-service, and I don't see it ending well.

I see a lot of "game industry gurus" coming out of woodworks commenting on how Sony's pivot was necessary in today's market and a consequence of said market.

The only thing I see is Sony mismanaging their studios in order to maximize profits, and failing miserably to produce anything worthwhile.

I hope anyone who announced anything #gaming related in the last 2 hours announces those things later again.

The UD Movie trailer (not that interested) and The First Berserker demo almost slipped me thanks to Nintendo being discussed everywhere.

Time to download the demo for First Berserker: Khazan, and see Clive go from DMC, to Tekken, to Souls now.

The trailers looked good, I hope the game plays good too.

Igniting revolution, civil disobedience, assault on authority, murder, forced captivity.... well more or less all crimes you can imagine in a fantasy war setting.
Confess your crimes to me

And here starts the insufferable 8 years of people making the "2 Switch" joke all around gamingsphere.

Seen a lot of discussion about this.

To me it seems (In general, but there are exceptions.) like people who have been into games before the terms got popular in online discussion do not like them, and those who got into games in 00s and later are familiar with them.

I fall in the latter category.
my most soldier still fighting ww2 opinion is that video game generation numbers are fake and stupid. no one ever used them! they were just made up by some wikipedia editors and finally normalised by youtubers looking things up on wikipedia

🎮 What's a game you'll never 🗣 shut up about?

More people need to play this gem of a game.

It’s pretty much all mismanagement. Adopting new tech prematurely? Mismanagement. Changing creative direction in production? Mismanagement. Iterating on content 3+ times? Mismanagement. Adding major features in production? Mismanagement.

Poor planning, failure to follow plans - all mismanagement.
Why do video games cost so much to make these days? A recent NYT article pinned bloated budgets on the graphical arms race, but that's only a small part of the equation. The real problem? Rampant mismanagement.

This week's column is a spicy one: www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...
Why So Many Video Games Cost So Much to Make
Graphical fidelity is only part of the reason that game budgets have swelled to hundreds of millions of dollars

I was talking to a group who consider themselves as "digital collector", and the topic about mods (about PSN requirements) came up.

They told me that they don't use mods on games because they don't want to risk the accounts getting banned. 🙄

I am regretting starting playing Elin now.

It is one of those games (like Civ) where you open it to play maybe 1-2hrs, and next thing you know is that the timer says 7hrs...

Anyway, back to Elin I go.

Remasters don't excite me. Other than the fact that you support the series and the people working on it, I always find emulating them better.

Emulation provides more QOL and modernizing features (or staying true to original if you want) than what most remasters bother.
What game yall rushing too?

Until you've built a level and had 10 million people play it without getting lost or frustrated, you can shut the fuck up about yellow paint.

It feels like the whole industry is waiting for GTA6 right now. Barely anything after February has a confirmed release date. So little to look forward to, specially when it comes to planning for discs.

Not under this post, but else where I saw people hoping for PC, Switch 2, and Xbox versions on day 1.

I am pretty sure Sony made a deal them for limited exclusivity when it wasn't even a trilogy. We might see the next FF spinoff/mainline title be multiplat, but I don't think FF7R3 will be.
Kitase says Square is satisfied with the sales of FF VII Rebirth, but exclusivity isn't ideal anymore.

“With the current modernization state of games, we cannot be exclusive to a single platform. We need to be able to offer the game to as many players as we can.”
