Elon Musk “apparently did not anticipate that it would be bad PR for the world’s richest man to take food and medicine from the world’s poorest children,” our columnist Michelle Goldberg writes.

NEW: We identified at least 14 officers in the Chicago Police Department who, according to disciplinary records, have faced multiple accusations of sexual assault or misconduct in the past 10 years.

Most have not been convicted.

Republicans are saying that these cuts will be reinvested into Medicaid for people who "deserve" it.

If that were true, the budget would stay the same. But that's not what's happening. Why?

Because down the hall, they are trying to finance tax breaks for billionaires.

This is a huge important story that has flown under the radar. More contempt, more lawlessness. More outrageousness.
Court BLOCKED deporting people to El Salvador unless they could first exercise procedural right to claim protections against torture

US government sent them anyway!

The only appropriate response to this is impeachment and removal from office. Every moment the political press spends spinning out theories about 2026 and immigration polling is a minute they are not spending asking Republicans in Congress about their plans to enforce the rule of law

I don't really care what the "political consequences" are of fighting for the proposition that *everyone* is entitled to due process before they are removed from the United States and sent to a Salvadoran prison.

It's not really a principle if you only adhere to it when it's politically expedient.
