I wish they had made this for people who actually liked DQ7 instead of for people who had nothing good to say about it. Because what it sounds like is that if I want to revisit DQ7, I should just play the PSX version.

I wish they had made this for people who actually liked DQ7 instead of for people who had nothing good to say about it. Because what it sounds like is that if I want to revisit DQ7, I should just play the PSX version.

I've thought about this before and likely it's an accidental or subconscious theme more than anything the creators envisioned, but I'm really struck by Gnosia as a metaphor for the experience of refugees. Stuck on a ship that will never dock, until they prove that they are human.
In Gnosia, the state of humanity is equivalent to the worth of your life. The crew are all war refugees. At first it seems strange, the unserious way they act in the face of death, but as the story progresses it becomes clear that many of them simply don't believe their lives have human worth.
