Will be in Portland, Oregon, for months doing research and writing and have spent today working on the yard in Florida and marveling at how little it needs me now. The frogs and fish in the pond. The rare warblers hunting insects in the trees. Such a paradise that I hope long outlives me.

this will sound very tin-foil of me, but I think we’re getting all these reboots and live action remakes to keep more culturally relevant messages from being heard through entertainment
If we’re all busy staying nostalgic over past repeats, that time is less spent on learning about today’s matters
