This! Sadly… this…

The fares are *very* different on each type of card, it's actually insane.

Nîmes – Pont du Gard TGV has been a personal pet peeve of mine since it opened. There are indeed plenty of other options for "less bad" names.

J'avais fait une démo d'une étiquette corrigée dans les TGV inOui, soumise au CM de TGV sur X. Il manque clairement des flèches, elles ont été rajoutées. On progresse !

I see a much better case for relocating Aix TGV a few km north on top of the Aix-Rognac (fmr freight, used recently) and using this line to add Aix-Rognac-StCharles SERM/RER services.

There are even actual provisions for this. The current Lorraine TGV is an actual disgrace of a station as it **also** misses the **airport** by 8 km!
Literally everyone agrees that Vandières was the better location but no-one wants to do anything about it for fear of having to pay for it...

IMHO Lyon's map is also pretty well made but the lack of different colors for different lines (except the metro) makes following an individual line harder than it should be. www.tcl.fr/sites/defaul...

Allow me to pipe in with a map I find quite well made, Paris's bus network with streets: eu.ftp.opendatasoft.com/stif/PlansDe... It's not perfect (no map ever is) but it gets the job done pretty well. Trunk routes like rue Auber are still pretty legible.

also, iran is like 70+% mountain, the potential for decade-long afghan-like hideouts is incredibly high (imho)

Last but not least, the peanutsabout (© my 9yo). Huge bus stop in the middle, sub islands, and it's on a ~10% incline. It kind of freaked me out the first time, but **all** of Nantes is like this. They have the most creative traffic engineers in France (imho). www.geoportail.gouv.fr/carte?c=-1.5...

In western Nantes, here's a linked set of **very** aggressive and unforgiving squarabouts. I have often seen trucks with broken left rear tires near there…

Nantes absolutely loves stuff like this (in Rezé to be precise). That intersection and the surrounding bus stops are called "la Carrée". Can't make it up! I have other examples in the area, we give them names with my 9yo.

I can make my own plan too!

It's only been done once, in the early 00's for one specific type, on one line: the MF 67 on line 3. It's never been done since and there's no plan to ever do it again.
On some stock, it's complicated as anchor points for seats are in very specific locations. So seating configurations rarely change.

Parisian here. Longitudinal seating has been a hot topic for 20+ years on new rolling stock for the region, and we're only starting to get *some* of it on the latest RER NG stock for lines D and E. We've been very conservative on that topic and I can't explain why.

Can't unsee Pixar's Birds every time I see birds on wires. Every. Single. Time.

managed to grab a double espresso at Gare de Lyon's Pret (hall 3, underneath the numered platforms) and it's actually A-OK: not a bucket of water, some bitterness, actual coffee flavor. grain is prob too roasted but all in all, a decent cup. A comforting treat after a hectic ride to the station 😮‍💨
