It is a huge difference, isn't it!

If you want to read more, I have the details here...

...just please don't mark my work, lol. Writing stuff isn't one of my skills and English always was my worst subject at school (other than PE).

First ever Prison Reading Laureate announced to boost literacy among prisoners
I love what Labour are doing with prison reform, specifically through their efforts to reduce the number of people sent to prison on short sentences.

So many good things - but I have to say (as an English Lang & Lit graduate and former teacher) - number 9 grabbed my attention the most!
Compare that with Failing Grayling removing books from prisons! 😱😱😱

Hopefully your situation will change in due course.

But yes, we do all have to look beyond what is for us personally and instead consider what is good for others, or the country as whole.

The media really frustrate me right now. All of it.

Hope what I post keeps giving you a little bit of hope.

What are the right channels?
TV should be enough, but isn't. Social media, govt website, adverts, TV interviews & appearances, newspapers, party political broadcasts, live parliament & press conferences..all used by this govt, yet stymied by media bias & clickbait.
If they made weekly broadcasts...

People would soon get sick of tuning in, if they bothered in the first place.
In the end results will speak for themselves, but the UK electorate have short memories & great expectations.

And @mrjamesob.bsky.social - if you want another list of what Labour was working on just YESTERDAY, here is an 18 item list I put together.

Remember, it's just one day....

What does a Labour government ever do for you?

Well here are 14 things they have done TODAY!

How many can you say other parties even have the first clue about?

1. Upgrades to more grass roots sports facilities

2. 450,000 disadvantaged students to be supported by new AI tutoring tools

A good trip to break the ice and build the foundations of a new future. Totally misrepresented in the RW media. He can’t do anything right.

Oh give it a rest.
We finally have a PM who is getting on with the job & all we get is leadership nonsense & unrealistic expectations. The media & its completely negative spin is misleading.
There is no vacancy in number 10.

The young really are screwed. When I went to Uni I got a grant plus sponsorship, no course fees and subsidised accommodation. Came out with my degree and no debt. Mind you it was a long time ago.

How have we now got it so wrong?

I think he mentioned SM briefly (yesterday?), something about it being better for us than CM. At least the words are being said out loud now - however quietly!

Slowly, slowly, making agreements with EU and dealing with comebacks from rw rags, online media, tiktok etc. Apparently Farage is to be next PM - so no chance of UK membership being acceptable to existing members - or several others now applying to join.

I could have written that about myself! I hate being described as one of the most fortunate generation ever, who ripped EU membership from our youngsters. I do, tho, have to admit that several of my friends (far from all) did vote leave. Don't often mention it, tho occasionally get in a quiet dig!

I'm in my 80s, voted Remain and really don't know the answer to that question. I can only think it might be to do with education. I was extremely lucky to be one of the only 4% of young people who went to university in the 1960s. Nowadays I believe the proportion is approaching to 50%.
