Great read from Dan Rather:
"...The very existence of a free press is a threat to this president’s modus operandi, which is to govern by lying. Why would he want people around him who ask for facts and truthful answers?..."

President Trump defended Tucker Carlson on Sunday for his sympathetic interview with the white nationalist and racist antisemite Nick Fuentes, breaking a weekslong silence on an episode that had ignited bitter infighting among conservatives.

And today it's the turn of The Times to try and patronise us all.

Every single day the right wing establishment tries to close ranks.

And every day we are growing.

The algorithm promotes Elon Musk's agenda to promote racists and people who want violence bought - specifically - to the streets of Britain.

Members of Parliament, major institutions and the media should not be there.

À tale of two cities.

The Macron presidency in Paris, which ends in 2027,will have coincided, broadly with the Brexit period in London.

There is a interesting comparison which tells us something about the UK, about France, and maybe even Brexit.

Nice to see Michael Heseltine’s hair back in the Commons.
First the likes of Farage said we needed to leave the EU. Now they’re coming for the ECHR.

Paul Kohler MP: "It feels like Brexit déjà vu with the same hollow promises of taking back control, the same disregard for facts, the same blindness to consequence."

👏 Today marks 75 years since the creation of the ECHR.

We should celebrate the vision that Winston Churchill showed in recognising everyone’s human rights.

But there are now calls for the UK to leave ECHR.

As with Brexit, leaving would strip all of us of fundamental rights.

The Bear explains
Leaving the ECHR won’t “Take Back Control” – it will hand your rights to politicians
The myths are seductive, the reality is very different – without the ECHR your freedoms rest on whichever Home Secretary wakes up grumpy

Interesting that it only becomes a major national scandal the second these releases can be blamed on a Labour government
