Here to check out the difference voices around me. Chicagoan. Citizen. Karaoke Singer.
I went to college with Brad, and this very much checks with the man I knew then.
Here's a longer video of Brad Lander's detention just now inside 26 Federal Plaza as he tried to walk a man out of immigration court, by masked federal agents.

To build on this point: IL is a great example of using solid strategies to win and hold purple districts with strong candidates who offer solid constituent services.

One of my issues with Hogg is that he misses this key lesson.
Oh my goodness in Illinois we know that’s not true. This state flips red every so often. I’ve had lots of republican governors. I hope for all the best for you.

I love this! The wacky ways we retail workers deal with the stress during downtime.
I have so many questions.

Unsealed documents indicating significant Russian interference in domestic U.S. affairs. The thematic propaganda themes are interesting. Modern technologies in use to spread content & analyze its reach, including psychological operations. www.justice.gov/archives/opa...

I have a feeling my state is going to be doing some heavy lifting over the next few years.
🏆 Governor Pritzker- Illinois - has signed an order prohibiting all J6 rioters from state employment.

I need to remember this!
The biggest mistake salespeople make is they keep on talking after they have closed the deal.

It doesn't take long for buyers remorse to set in.

Border czar Tom Homan is on CNN complaining that Chicago is “very well educated” and people “know their rights” too well for ICE to be able to enforce mass deportations. Good work, neighbors.

The only reason to be on X at the moment is the Unrivaled basketball stuff. It's like All-Star weekend without the problematic fans of a certain player.

I hope they all come here.

Honest opinion: Carter was the 1st POTUS to be screwed by "mainsteam media," and unfortunately, we are living in that world.

Remember, Ted Koppel and Nightline shouldn't have become a "thing" that fed into the 24-hour news feed.

PR has to be one of the more soul-less jobs.
The NYT article about Blake Lively’s lawsuit is incredible. Her director/costar’s PR team texting

“Holy shit, I can’t believe how well our evil plan to destroy this woman’s reputation is working! Thank god no one will ever read these text messages!”

back and forth to each other over and over

Cold weather isn't enough to activate "dibs" in Chicago.

This is better than the last proposal.

I applaud raising the bag tax.

I wish someone would go after the developers who convert two flats into mini mansions.

That parking meter deal has turned out to be one of the worst things to happen to Chicago.
Mayor Brandon Johnson’s revised plan helps close a $337.4 million shortfall in the city’s $17.3 billion spending plan by hiking taxes and fees by a total of $234 million.

The proposal is set to be considered by key city panels Tuesday, and a final City Council vote on Friday.

Mayor Brandon Johnson Calls for $68.5M Property Tax Hike, $165.5M Increase in Other Taxes to Close Budget Gap as Deadline Looms
The new plan comes after the Chicago City Council rejected Johnson’s first two proposals to raise property taxes in order to avoid draconian cuts to city services and thousands of layoffs.

There might be a few folks that happen to follow me that are from Chicago on here, and I want to remind EACH of them to think about your "least able" neighbors when it's cold or snowy.

Check in.
Get their groceries (without judgements).
Shovel or put down salt.

It's not hard.

I'm facing an extremely long "Black Friday" working for a retailer who has leaned heavily into their own demise (if you're in the Chicago market, you know), and I'm dreading it.

A reminder to be kind to the lowly retail worker today. A reminder to be kind to myself today.

I'm wearing this beanie today, so AD is very much on my mind.
I'll bite. My cat was named Angela Davis. This was one of the last photos I have in her glorious company. Every day, during her 19 years, that name was spoken with respect and love.

While I don't "dye" my hair at home, I do occasionally do this weird "wash" that wakes up the original "red/ginger" and will be curious to see what the results look like.

One of the most important stories but under-reported stories from election day itself were the bomb threats phoned into key polling places.

This is one of the most important ones to come out AFTER election day.

I grew up with kids of the family that originally planted this years Xmas tree!!
Received a front page in today's Chicago Sun-Times! Be sure to get a copy if you can today to see our coverage of the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony last night!

It's going to be Cspan and PBS for me. Plus, for local news, I'll stick to the Chicago Sun-Times.
Sorry MSNBC, but don’t be surprised by the mass exodus (38% decline) of your viewers since the election. I used to watch your network when you provided a progressive counterpoint to Fox. But when you minimized negative news coverage of Trump and amplified it for Harris, you lost me.

What wise words!
Please be kind. don’t be the reason someone didn't eat today. don’t be the reason someone hates waking up. don’t be the reason why someone doesn’t join in on a conversation. don’t be the reason why someone hates themselves. trust me, it sticks with them forever
