Why are the BBC, @nytimes.com, AP, @usatoday.com, CBC, etc. still framing the unrest in Iran as economic unrest, when tens of thousands are risking their lives chanting Pahlavi's name and chanting, "DEATH TO KHAMENEI"? Where are the images of the giant protests or reports of TikTok's ban of videos?
Iranians are chanting “death to the dictator” and calling for the fall of the regime.
Major Western outlets have framed the uprising as economic unrest or barely covered it at all. That choice matters.
