The other night, I watched the Henry Louis Gates Jr.’s show on PBS about #BlackAndJewishAmerica. Part of the segment mentioned the Bronx Slave Market, and I felt the need to dig deeper. The history of Black women’s labor and how communities responded is powerful and complicated.
