Wishing everyone a happy Fourth of July!

249 years since we declared independence from a king, the work of living up to our founding promise is more important than ever - and it calls on each of us to do what we can for our country.

Trump signed another vindictive Executive Order against a major law firm. This time, it was Jenner & Block. They can thank their colleagues at Paul Weiss for that.
Here's hoping Jenner & Block does NOT capitulate, fires back at Trump, and some lawyers at Paul Weiss quit and join Jenner & Block.

I'm filling-in for Ari Melber tonight on @thebeat.msnbc.com at 6 pm ET!

After this afternoon's unfortunate Trump stump speech at the Department of Injustice, we've got a lot to talk about. Plus, some very smart guests on the economy, the environment, and vaccines.

See you then!

The first rule in fighting tyranny is to never capitulate in advance. You broke that rule. You are not up to the moment as a leader.
My YES vote is *not* an endorsement of this deeply flawed CR.

My YES vote is 💯 about refusing to shut our government down.

I refuse to punish working families and plunge millions of Americans into chaos.

I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever vote to shut our government down.

It is another to hand it to him.

I’m headed to the Senate floor now.

But Russia *could* actually go away. Main sanctions, isolate Russia financially and politically, starve the Russian industry, and eventually it will collapse. Federation might break into smaller factions, and those are the Russians Europe could deal with - just don't let them regain strength.
