Thought I saw a giant tortoise on the side of the road today,
But it was just a log.
I live for that kind of excitement .

These folks are really the bottom of the barrel, shit on the bottom of your shoe types. This is just so unfathomably cruel. This level of hatred for such a small percentage of the population who are much more likely to be harmed than cause harm. It just angers me to my core.
SCOOP: The US Dept. of Education and GOP Rep. Dan Crenshaw will each recognize "DeTrans Awareness Day" tomorrow with events featuring anti-trans activists.

In lieu of a press release, I’m told the Dept. event will be covered exclusively by a reporter from The Federalist.
GOP will observe “DeTrans Awareness Day” with multiple events Wednesday
Rep. Dan Crenshaw and the Dept. of Education are leading the charge.

Taking a moment to appreciate how much better I’ve gotten with boundaries since following the news the last time Trump was elected.. appreciating the balance of focusing more on what can be done to fight fascism and not letting the fear tactics (thus feelings of helplessness) get to me.

Libraries are the best. I just placed holds on 17 books of crochet patterns and stitches 😌

This is your reminder that libraries are a great place to find resources for hobbies - some even have beginner kits (like yarn, needles/hooks) you can take out to get started!

What I’m reading on the plane. We all need to do what we can, when we can. If all you can do today to contribute is learn something about authoritarianism that you didn’t know before, that’s good enough. A little is better than none. Keep going.

Happy Black History Month! Here is my favorite story about a Black American you may not know about: Robert Smalls. He commandeered a confederate ship and sailed himself, his family, and the other enslaved crew and their families to freedom. THROUGH waters controlled by the Confederacy.
