The Wildflower Association of Michigan is hosting their annual conference on march 1-2. It's a great opportunity to learn about native landscaping, see presentations by MSU educators, and connect with people in the horticulture and conservation industries.

One of my party facts is that according to polls, Americans believe foreign aid is about 25% of the federal budget and on average that it *should* be about 10%.
The actual number is less than 1%.
Foreign aid has long been a boogey man of the right, so it's not surprising they're vilifying it now.

Nature centers, botanical gardens, & conservation groups are a great way to fill time with outdoor activities and learning. They also rely heavily on grants, which have just been frozen. Get a membership.
