Enough people said they wanted to see the final slide deck, so I took the time to put it on my non-teacher github so I could share it. I didn't end up getting in trouble. I ended up being encouraged by a colleague to share it with my dept chair, and he liked it

It's so good. It's so good. It's so good.

When you get tired of clunky, sterile fetch quests, play this.

When you want to replay a game and get a completely different opinion of characters and events, play this.

When you want decisions to weigh on you for days after them, play this.

This is going to start happening more. It's all just racial profiling. I hope someone takes their case and sues everyone involved.
A three-year old, his mother, and his grandmother were speaking Spanish while shopping in Milwaukee. They’re U.S. citizens from Puerto Rico but were taken by ICE. Once in detention, the mother was able to produce ID and birth certificates proving citizenship:

Hey science friends?

I know that many of you are concerned about the perceived neutral and apolitical role of science in decisionmaking.

But scientists are being targeted. We didn't start it.

And advocating *for the role of scientific evidence in policymaking* is not unprofessional advocacy.

THIS. Community supporters saved my neighborhood library branch from closing by organizing families who pledged to check out books 2X/wk (the # of days the library was open). They did this for months until officials could no longer argue the library branch wasn’t being utilized. Advocacy works!
1000% this. Public libraries are actually pretty radical--free to all, and based on the idea that info should be available to all. Get a library card! Use your library! Those numbers often play into their funding.
I also keep thinking that we have to support our libraries.

The White House didn't say "stop teaching about the Tuskegee Airmen when you do US history." The White House said "stop doing DEI and wokeness," and the military interpreted it as "stop saying the Tuskegee Airmen were heroes, and maybe stop teaching about them altogether."

Yeah, that's bad.
Here's the thing about the Tuskegee Airmen history - there was nothing in the EO about it. Someone in the Air Force interpreted it that way -- which is far worse.

Marry someone who, though he doesn’t drink at the moment, gets so punch-drunk off you being mimosa-tipsy that you giggle who whole time you’re making gifts for people.
