It's leading, and has no real idea on how bicycling infrastructure is designed, nor how you introduce it into a community.

New Jersey PDs continue to post strikingly similar notices regarding the state's inept and pernicious eBike rules on social media.
This year, 43 people have died on NJ roads, not one of them hit by, or riding an "e-Bike". Every single person either in or hit by a car.

Yes... Imagine...
Imagine if NJ police departments put as much effort into enforcing or publicizing any other safety violation as they are the new e-bike law. Even if e-bikes are registered and insured and the riders are licensed they’re still going to be run over and killed by distracted drivers.

Here we are on Day 38/365/2026 and 43 people have died on New Jersey roads, 16 of them were pedestrians.
Not one of them was killed by an eBike.

Gov. Murphy still hasn't made a decision on whether to sign or veto the terrible bill that the NJ Assembly passed to require insurance and registration of low-speed e-bikes. If you haven't called or texted him yet, there is still time! (I will stop pestering people about this soon...)

As of today, 01/16/2026, @10.00am, there have been 18 fatalities this year on New Jersey roads. Every one involving a car.
Think how much worse it would be if the state hadn't banned in-category e-Bikes.
