Boise airport is completely locked down right now. Nobody is allowed in and they're not letting planes dock. Traffic people said it's completely shut down for an emergency. I'm nervous because my kid is already inside the airport right now.

Oh hey there, B Sky. B Cielo. B Babyyyy

I'm once again alone at a bar downtown finishing some work, but unfortunately, I am not interested in eavesdropping on anyone around me.

So instead, I shall muse.

I will never forget having to edit Jamal’s final, posthumous piece for the Washington Post, after he was murdered.

He was calling for free expression in the Arab world. You can read it here :

Opinion | Jamal Khashoggi: What the Arab world needs most is free expression
The Arab world needs a modern version of the old transnational media so citizens can be informed about global events.

Listen, I have a cold, mutated lump of coal where my heart is supposed to be, but as a mother, this made me choke up. I cannot imagine the enormousness of this woman's pain, and I cannot imagine that a hospital is forced to respond with "nah, go to SLC." Thank you Kate, for sharing this with us.

I'm finishing off a project tonight at a downtown Boise location, alone. At the bar, a man and woman sit next to me. I instantly begin eavesdropping.

When someone you love has been gone from your life for a long time, the memory of them begins to feel like a fever dream and your mind begins to forget details you don't want to forget. I don't like that part. 💔

Just got done visiting my dear friend JJ Saldaña at his ofrenda at JUMP. We didn't put his personal belongings this year for a host of reasons, but he's still so handsome and happy. Please stop by this week and give him your love. We've missed him terribly.

I low key love it when in the middle of an interview about horrible events with a journalist, it becomes obvious they're having a hard time maintaining their neutral/objective face.

I can tell they're trying to tell me with their eyes "I can't say it but I'm not a monster and what happened sucks"

It is time to use a social media account as my personal diary again.

Since we are all off the record, let's chat about what has happened lately, shall we?

The fourth estate of democracy may be the only one left hanging on to democracy.
I happen to know that some powerful media orgs were unhappy that AP filed suit; they thought the conflict with the White House would blow over on its own and that AP risked making bad law. The AP's leadership deserves a lot of credit for having proceeded as it did. apnews.com/article/trum...
