If you can only be a man because women are disenfranchised and devalued, then the mere progression toward equality threatens your sense of “manhood.” If you strip away that false sense of superiority, what are you without that? Are you as strong, or as smart or as capable as you thought you were?

The author of the article does raise a good point in a few sections: all of the economic problems facing “young men” are actually just problems facing “young people.” Why the focus on gender? But then the rest of the piece just pretty much legitimizes the whole manosphere thing.
