Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

Women, and also specifically retired teachers (both men and women). Once you notice you can't unsee it.
I see this every time I work with community groups. Women stepping in to fill gaps left by LAs and government, only to find the more they step in, the more gaps appear, as government sees this free labour as a solution that their funding crises. It is not. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
UK has got ‘fat’ on decades of free labour by women, says MP Jess Phillips
Minister points to ‘sexist’ practice of country relying on women to provide services so government did not have to

"A voting system that effectively bins 3/5ths of all votes cast is leading to alienation & distrust, as stated in the party programme before the 2024 election.. The government must set up a National Commission to design a better electoral system for a better democracy"

Increasingly I’m feeling that lots of AI startups are a mix of overhyped promises+race to the bottom while offering a wonky product.

There’s now an “AI recruiter startup” that both promises to be a better recruiter than any human (taking interviews, screening ppl)… at $29/month?!

Not possible

Why hasn’t AI taken your job yet? - on.ft.com/3DRCPFb via @FT

This is the most wacky understanding of what programming is, and the real answer to what it is shows you why ChatGPT hasn't replaced it

Previously, you might have sold a SaaS platform to accomplish a particular task.

The beauty of AI is you can rename it an agent, keep the interface exactly the same, reduce the accuracy, increase the latency, double the price, and your enterprise customers will somehow be happier.

I've never been great at giving career advice. For me, everything has always boiled down to these 4 things, in order of importance:

1. Be nice.
2. Never stop learning how things work.
3. Master your tools.
4. Understand the business.

I love that we brought in a work from anywhere policy last year at Liberis. I'm making a habit of using it to get some focus work done. 2025 engineering strategy updates being done from a nice hotel in Madrid, really helps to shift your mindset from the day to day.
