So, there’s plenty of negative news all around us. What I’m looking for is something POSITIVE in aviation defense or space to chat about. Please share something.
Here’s mine. The Philippine Martin Mars will be making its final flights to the Pima Air & Space Museum as early as next week!

You'd think it paid a lot in taxes, right?

Well it paid precisely $0 in federal income taxes last year.

You want waste and fraud? Look at what some big corporations and the rich are getting away with.

This brings Tesla’s average tax rate over the past three years to 0.4 percent.

All conflicts of interest between the FAA and Elon Musk must be removed. It is a conflict of interest for someone whose company is regulated by the federal government to be involved in anything that affects his personal financial interest, his company or his competitors.

Accuweather is one of the leading proponents to privatizing aspects of NOAA so that they can collect subscription fees for the data.
if you report on "privatizing" NOAA its important to make clear that the private sector simply cannot replicate the data collection and modeling services performed by NOAA. They don't want to run it in the private sector, they want to paywall it so they can sell you something your taxes paid for

“It’s been a longtime goal of corporations that rely on Noaa data to prevent the agency from making the data public, instead of giving it directly to private corporations that create products based on it.”
